Earlier in 2023, CAPULC announced the launch of the Underground Facility Locating and Marking Standard. This first-of-its-kind standard in Canada provides a comprehensive framework for locating underground infrastructure and safeguarding buried facilities against accidental damage. A culmination of many years of effort by CAPULC members, this standard is a major milestone for the industry and will help establish consistency and cultivate proficiency in line locating across Canada. Join us in promoting safety, enhancing the reputation of the industry, and attracting talent by checking out the new standard today!

This was a huge step in the right direction. Currently anyone can have ability to provide feedback to this document by sending us an email to admin@capulc.ca. CAPULC will be utilizing our Education and Standards committee to review the Continuous Improvement Log and tackle some of the other newer items that need to be added, however if there is feedback that needs to be reviewed it will be addressed at that time as well.

It looks as though the Education and Standards Committee will be reminding everyone to submit feedback so that we can start working towards updates and new items to be added to our CAPULC National Underground Facility Locating and Marking Standard in 2025. Get your comments and feedback in asap!! If this is something that you want to be part of, please contact Tracey at admin@capulc.ca!! We look forward further advancements to our Standards!
